About Sarah Mulder

Sarah Mulder is a visual artist and jewelry designer, creating from her Gastown studio in Vancouver, British Columbia.

After graduating in 2000 with her diploma in fine arts, Sarah traveled to Europe to study art history; this first trip abroad further sparked her love for the arts. Financing her European trip, and later her Bachelor of Fine Arts, through the sales of jewelry, she applied her passion into a full-time business in 2011 and has since created a successful niche in the jewelry industry.

Sarah continues to balance her time between painting and jewelry design.

Sarah's Process

"The relationship between colour, flow and form has always been the most important aspects of my work. Finding an emotional connection with the movement of paint has been a recent discovery. The push and pull of each brush stroke and creating a narrative in my paintings have become, in some ways, self-portraits of who I was, and the person I am on a quest to learn more about.

My interest in flowers as subject matter lies in their fragility, soft and delicate yet revealing, telling a story of our ephemeral, fleeting life. With each artwork there is sadness and a joy, a yin-yang balance of female and male energy that is inherently revealed."
